Brewers keep pace with Cubs and Cardinals

The Brewers scored all their runs in the third inning on Tuesday and that was all they needed to pick up a 4-2 victory over the Astros at Miller Park. With the Astros up 1-0, Ryan Braun singled home Trent Grisham to tie it. Then Eric Thames delivered the big blow, a three-run homer off of Houston starter Zack Greinke.

Jordan Lyles delivered a terrific start for Milwaukee going 6 1/3 innings only allowing two runs and striking out six. The bullpen pitched a perfect 1 2/3 innings to secure the victory.

Both the Cubs and Cardinals also won Tuesday so the Brewers remain seven games back of St. Louis in the division and four games behind Chicago for the second Wild Card. Milwaukee has Wednesday off before they start a huge four-game series with the Cubs at Miller Park starting on Thursday.
