The Southern Door Eagles pulled out their first win in the 2019 season defeating Crivitz 39-14. It was parent night at Southern Door and the players put on a performance for their families. Running back Nick Baudhuin had a career night for the Eagles. The junior running back had 28 rushes for 392yds, a new school record, and scored all 6 touchdowns for Southern Door which tied the school record.
The Eagles were able to get on the board about midway through the first quarter on a 26yd touchdown run by Baudhuin. The Wolverines were able to answer in the second quarter, scoring on a 16yd pass from QB Jaden Werner to WR Dawson Andrist; Wolverines converted a 2pt conversion to take an 8-7 lead. The Eagles did not let that lead last long though, going ahead 13-8 on a 7yd touchdown run by Baudhuin. Baudhuin would add another 13yd touchdown which gave the Eagles a 19-8 lead but the Wolverines would not go away easy. Crivitz scored with about 30 seconds left in the first half cutting the lead to 19-14.
In the second half though it was all Nick Baudhuin; the Eagles running back added 3 more scores from 31, 38, and 1yd respectively. The Eagles defense was just as good; they held the Wolverines offense to only 160yds as a whole.
