Yelich, Grandal homeruns power Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers bounced back from Thursday’s loss and defeated the Cubs 7-1 Friday. Reigning NL MVP Christian Yelich hit a 3-run homerun in the bottom of the 3rd inning, his 44th on the year. Brewers’ catcher Yasmani Grandal also added a solo homerun in the bottom of the 4th inning for his 24th homerun on the season. Starting pitcher Zach Davies went five solid innings, only allowing 3 hits, 1 run while striking out 4 to pick up his ninth win on the year. The Brewers and Cubs will continue their series Saturday; Gio Gonzalez is slated to start for Milwaukee and he will face Yu Darvish. First pitch is scheduled for 6:10 PM.
