The Badgers defense continues to have a clean 2019-2020 season. In Week One, Wisconsin shut out South Florida 49-0 and Saturday they blanked Central Michigan 61-0 in the home opener. It was as lopsided as the score would suggest.
Wisconsin outgained CMU 599-58. Quarterback Jack Coan threw for 363 yards, the fifth-best single-game mark in school history. Coan had three touchdown throws including two to WR Quintez Cephus. Central Michigan averaged less than two yards per pass and just 0.7 yards per rush. The Chippewas only possessed the ball for 20:33, barely half of what the Badgers had.
Wisconsin is off next week before starting Big Ten play on the 21st against Michigan. The Wolverines squeaked by Army 24-21 in double OT.
