Brewers capture series from Cubs

The Milwaukee Brewers put an exclamation point on their season series against the Chicago Cubs in its 8-5 win Sunday.

Most of the damage came in the fourth inning when the Brewers were down 3-1.  Ryan Braun collected his second RBI of the day on a double before Hernan Perez drove him in to tie the game at three. Tyler Austin delivered the big blow, a three-run shot that gave the Brewers all they would need. Eric Thames delivered his 21st homer in the sixth inning and Tyrone Taylor singled in a run to cap off the scoring for the Brewers. Jason Heyward's 19th home run would call in Josh Hader from the pen to stop the game from going further as he earned his 29th save of the season.

The last 10 days for the Brewers not only garnered two series win from the Cubs, but also the season series by a slim 10-9 margin.

The Brewers look to edge even closer in the wild card chase when they play the Marlins tonight in Miami.
