Brewers win but lose Yelich

The Brewers playoff chances were helped and hurt on Tuesday night. Milwaukee is now only one game back of the Cubs for the second Wild Card in the National League after the Brewers knocked off the Marlins 4-3 and Chicago lost to the Padres 9-8 in extra innings. However Christian Yelich, in contention for a second straight MVP, fouled a ball off his right knee in the first inning and broke the kneecap. He will miss the rest of the season. Yelich finishes the season with a .329 batting average, 44 home runs, 97 RBI's and 30 stolen bases.

The Brewers scored the winning run on a ninth-inning sacrifice fly from Tyler Austin driving home Yasmani Grandal. Hernan Perez hit his 7th home run of the season in the game. Milwaukee goes for their 6th win in a row on Wednesday night in Miami for a 6:10 first pitch.
