Milwaukee picked up its 13th victory in 15 contests Friday night at Miller Park, dropping Pittsburgh 10-1 in the weekend series opener. Milwaukee wasted little time getting on the board, putting up three runs in the first and three more in the sixth. That was plenty for pitcher Chad Anderson who hurled six scoreless frames for the win. The Brew Crew tacked on another four runs in the seventh. Trent Grisham led the team with three RBIs off the bench.
St. Louis defeated Chicago 2-1 which moves Milwaukee two games clear of the Cubs for the second Wild Card spot in the National League. At 84-70, Milwaukee remains three back of the Cardinals for the Central Division lead.
