A Ryan Braun grand slam was all the help the Milwaukee Brewers needed to clinch its second playoff berth in as many seasons with a 9-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.
Braun's blast made it 4-0 before the Reds even had a chance to get comfortable, and thanks to an Eric Thames' home run and an RBI groundout by Trent Grisham it was 6-0 before they even grabbed a bat. Keston Hiura matched Eugenio Suarez's 49th home run with one of his own in the second inning. Yasmani Grandal joined the RBI parade with a double in the third and Trent Grisham added the final tally when he got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
With a playoff spot clinched, it is just a matter if they play the Washington Nationals in a one-game-take all matchup for the right to play the Los Angeles Dodgers or if they get spared the extra game and face the Atlanta Braves in the National League Divisional Series.
