Algoma football spoils Sturgeon Bay homecoming

The Algoma High School football team entered Friday night playing their best football of the season, shutting out their last two opponents. Algoma did not get the goose egg against Sturgeon Bay but they coasted to a 52-10 win. Sturgeon Bay did all its scoring in the fourth quarter including a safety of backup Wolves quarterback Kaden Vardon. The Clippers touchdown was a 7-yard pass from Anthony Jennerjohn to receiver Drew Price. Price worked out of the left slot, crossing the middle of the field towards the right hash while catching the ball in stride.

Algoma has several big-play threats but Friday it was Carter Zimmerman who stole the show. #10 had five touchdown runs in the first half including scampers of 45, 35, and 20 yards. Sturgeon Bay's defense had Algoma in third-and-long situations early on but couldn't get off the field. Then things snowballed. Algoma went up 52-0 on the first play of the second half before putting things in cruise control.
