Brewers fall in ten innings

Milwaukee looked to be a shoe-in for a NL Central Division tie after seven innings Saturday. The Brew Crew were up 2-0 thanks to an Eric Thames solo homer in the fifth and an RBI from Orlando Arcia two innings later. Starter Gio Gonzalez and three relievers had combined to allow just six hits. Things changed late. The Rockies got single runs in the eighth and ninth off Drew Pomeranz and Josh Hader via home run. Hader suffered his seventh blown save of the year when Sam Hilliard hit a pinch-hit bomb with Colorado down to their final out. Colorado shortstop Trevor Story ended the game leading off the bottom of the tenth with another home run. St. Louis lost too so the Brewers are still just one game back in the Central but Sunday is the final day of the regular season.
