Sevastopol volleyball wins Algoma Invitational

Sevastopol High School varsity volleyball made a statement on Saturday winning the Algoma Invitational. The Pioneers and the host Wolves met earlier in the season with Algoma sweeping that match three sets to zero. Sevastopol got their revenge Saturday 25-23, 15-25, 26-24. The Pioneers tallied three other wins Saturday, all in straight sets. They defeated Mishicot 25-18, 25-14. Sevastopol downed Two Rivers 25-18, 25-11. The Pioneers also knocked off Reedsville 25-7, 25-14. 


Mya Ploor led the team with 39 kills, Sam Differt had 14 ace serves and Sasha Laaksonen generously served up 82 assists in the four matches. Defensively, Rebekah Andreae stood tall with 14 blocks. Sevastaopol improved to 11-7 on the season overall.
