Nationals rally to eliminate Brewers

The Milwaukee Brewers were able to get to All-Star Max Scherzer for three runs but they still fell in Washington Tuesday night in the National League Wild Card game. Milwaukee got two in the first thanks to a Yasmani Grandal home run. The Brewers tacked on one in the second from an Eric Thames bomb to centerfield and still held a 3-1 advantage late. Juan Soto hit a single to right field in the bottom of the eighth that went under the glove of Trent Grisham. Because of the fielding error, one of two Milwaukee had on the night, three runs scored on the single.

Lorenzo Cain singled in the top of the ninth but the Crew could do no more. Milwaukee ended the season being swept in Colorado and losing the Wild Card matchup. All the games were on the road and several featured blown leads late.
