Avoiding the expected rain and cold seems to be the goal after Luxemburg-Casco moved up its Russ Fameree Invitational.

The race featuring 20 schools was supposed to take place at Northbrook Golf Course on Friday, but now will be held on the grounds of the Luxemburg-Casco Sports Complex beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday. That is good news for spectators and idle runners as rain is expected on Friday along with a 30-degree drop in the low temperature.

Joining the Spartans on the 5K course is Algoma, Sevastopol, Kewaunee, Sturgeon Bay, and Southern Door.

In other cross country action, Gibraltar will travel even further south to Brillion to take on Kiel Middle School, Valders, Gibraltar, Hilbert, Hortonville, Howards Grove, Oostburg, St. Mary Catholic, Manitowoc Lincoln, and Wrightstown for races beginning at 4:15 p.m.
