Southern Door halftime lead slips away

Southern Door High School's football team got off to a fast start Friday night thanks to three first half Peshtigo turnovers but the script was flipped in the second half. The Bulldogs pulled away late to down Southern Door 42-27. Alex Daoust intercepted Peshtigo's Will Boettcher on the first two possessions with Marcus Marchant scooping up a fumble on the third.

Nick Baudhuin had a 27-yard touchdown run off left tackle and Daoust threw a 16-yard score to capitalize on those turnovers giving Southern Door a 12-0 lead. Senior running back Jerad Jandt brought Peshtigo back. At half, it was 20-16. In the final 24 minutes, Jandt shone with several rushing touchdowns helping Peshtigo to the win. Southern Door's only score of the second half was an Alex Daoust option keeper on third-and-goal from the 14. Southern Door ends the year next Friday at Bonduel.
