Wisconsin hockey drops season opener

The Wisconsin Badgers men's hockey team is out east for the first weekend of the season. Friday night they faced off against 10th ranked Boston College. BC jumped out to a 4-1 lead early in the second period. The Eagles blitzed the Badgers with a pair of seniors. Julius Mattila had two goals and David Cotton tallied a goal and an assist.

Wisconsin regrouped though and made it a game. At the end of the 2nd period it was 4-3 Boston College following goals from Wisconsin's Owen Lindmark and Cole Caufield. Daniel Lebedeff got the start between the pipes for the Badgers making saves on 23 of BC's 28 shots on goal.
