Detroit's Matt Prater kicked five field goals but it was Mason Crosby's third of the night that gave the Green Bay Packers the 23-22 victory over the rival Lions.
It did not look good from the very beginning for the Packers as they were outscored 10-0 in the first quarter thanks in part to two long passing plays from the Lions' Matt Stafford. The Packers got on the scoreboard late in the second quarter down 13-0 thanks to five-yard pitch play to Jamaal Williams and Crosby's first field goal of the night. The Lions would hit three more field goals before calls started to tilt in favor of the Packers. One helped set up a 35-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers to reserve wide receiver Allen Lazard and another helped set up the game-winning field goal.
The Packers have a short week to prepare for their next opponent, the Oakland Raiders. That is a noon start at Lambeau Field.
