The only time Wisconsin trailed in their game at Illinois on Saturday was when there were all zeroes on the clock when the game ended. Wisconsin led the Fighting Illini 20-7 after Jonathan Taylor ran for a touchdown at the beginning of the third quarter. For the rest of the game, the Badgers missed a field goal, lost a fumble and threw an interception allowing Illinois a chance to come back and they did. James McCourt hit a 39-yard field goal as time expired to give Illinois an upset victory. The final score was 24-23.
Wisconsin's playoff hopes may have been dashed after this loss to an Illini team that came into the game at 2-4 overall. The Badgers have a chance to get back in the playoff hunt on Saturday when they travel to fourth-ranked undefeated Ohio State.
