UWGB men at New Mexico

The University of Wisconsin - Green Bay men's basketball team makes its first long-distance trip of the year Wednesday night against New Mexico. The Lobos are 2-0 in 2019 but they have played nobody. The Phoenix have to be comfortable knowing they've already been tested on the road at the tough Mackey Arena on the campus of Purdue University.

GB should be further along in regards to maturing as a team than the Lobos. New Mexico had a down year in 2018-2019 with just 14 wins on the season so catching them early in their rebuilding effort is a favorable position for the Phoenix. Visitors tend to struggle there with the elevation but an early-season trip with fresh legs should alleviate that potential problem. Green Bay has featured a balanced offense this year with four players averaging in double figures while shooting an impressive 46% from the field. They will need to rely on that team play if they start to feel the altitude.
