Gibraltar opens winter sports season with basketball scrimmage

Gibraltar is kicking off the winter sports season Friday night as they travel to take on Green Bay Southwest in a scrimmage ahead of next week's first regular-season game.

The Vikings came up just shy of reaching sectionals, losing to Hilbert in the regional final 48-42. The Trojans enter the season with new coach Berri West, who takes over for a team that lost to Luxemburg-Casco in overtime in the regional final.

The two teams scrimmage beginning at 5:45 p.m.
