Hunters ramping up for gun season

Before the gun season begins this weekend, hunters in Door and Kewaunee Counties continue to have success harvesting deer.

 

As of last week, 322 deer in Door County and 284 in Kewaunee County were harvested in the archery segment. Approximately the same number of bucks have been in killed in each county with 149 being harvested in Door County and 148 in Kewaunee County. 

 

With a crossbow, 532 have been harvested in Door County and 392 in Kewaunee County. Bucks harvests with a crossbow in Door County is exceeding Kewaunee County by a 275-202 margin. 

 

The gun season begins on Saturday and the radio stations of DoorCountyDailyNews.com will recap the action on 104.1 WRLU on select nights of the 2019 hunting season during our Deer Hunter's Round-Up show. A complete schedule will be posted later this week.
