It is award season for some levels of college football and former players from the area are getting some well-deserved recognition.
St. Norbert College senior defensive lineman and former Southern Door football player Kordell Draves made his third straight All-Midwest Conference First Team, leading the Knights with 13 tackles for a loss along with collecting 44 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Concordia St. Paul junior linebacker and former Luxemburg-Casco football player Dalton Smerchek earned All-Northern Sun Conference South Division Honorable Mention honors. Smerchek led the nation in Division II football with four fumble recoveries on the season along with 60 total tackles.
