Gibraltar girls basketball has Saturday matinee

Fresh off a thrilling season opener at home against Coleman, the Gibraltar High School girls basketball team returns to the court Saturday afternoon. The Vikings will host Xavier. In Gibraltar's opener, they were paced by Sage Krause who had 23 points in a 48-47 nailbiter. Krause averaged under six points per game a season ago.

Xavier had a much easier time in their opener, defeating Lourdes Academy by 28 points. Xavier was under .500 last season but early returns are promising this campaign. Xavier had three players score in double figures Wednesday night, all of them from the junior and sophomore classes.
