The University of Wisconsin women's basketball team may have packed too early for the Bahamas Hoopfest as they struggled on Tuesday night against Eastern Illinois. The Badgers nipped the visiting Panthers by just eight points in a nip-and-tuck affair. The Badgers led by a scant four points at halftime, scoring nine points in the second quarter.
The Badgers offense sputtered to a 36 percent field goal percentage teamed with 14 turnovers. Sophomore forward Imani Lewis was one of the few bright spots. She had 15 points on 5/11 shooting and was over 80 percent from the free throw line. Wisconsin plays Ball State on Friday and (25) Arkansas on Saturday. It is not a tournament format.
