High school basketball ends Thanksgiving vacation

Packerland conference teams take to the court Saturday ending a brief Thanksgiving holiday break from competition. Two girls games tip off in the 3 PM hour. Algoma High School is at home against Green Bay West. The Wolves are looking for their first win of the season after managing only 29 points on the road against Wausaukee last Friday. Green Bay West is 0-2 and has also played Wausaukee, falling 49-34 at home.

The Southern Door High School girls team travels to Little Chute trying to remain unbeaten against a 1-1 Mustang team. The Eagles have to contend with an eight-day layoff while Little Chute was on the court Tuesday, picking up a victory. Avoiding rust could prove pivotal in Southern Door's chances.

The Algoma High School boys team is also playing Saturday, a night game against Two Rivers. The Purple Raiders beat Kewaunee by four earlier this week while the Wolves have yet to have a contest which should give an advantage to Two Rivers. Algoma will need to contain Cam Daffner who put up 25 points against the Storm in 35 minutes of play Tuesday.
