Kewaunee girls dominate rival

The Kewaunee High School girls basketball team defeated rival Algoma 61-33 on the shores of Lake Michigan Friday night. Kewaunee put in a complete 36-minute effort. The Storm led by 14 points at half and would not have needed another basket to secure the victory. The tenacious Kewaunee defense yielded only eleven points after the break to the Wolves.

The leading scorers for Kewaunee were Mackenzie Tlachac, who tickled the twine for 26, and Katie Metzler with 12 points. Algoma had two players with nine points apiece, Hanna Wiese and Sydney Zimmerman. Kewaunee plays at Gibraltar on Thursday. Algoma also gets a six day break before taking the court at home against NEW Lutheran.
