Phoenix men fall at home, women wrap up home stint

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team fell short in the second half, but ultimately lost its Resch Center opener to the Evansville Purple Aces 72-62.

The Phoenix were down by double digits for much of the evening, but had it within six with just minutes to go in the second half. A 13-0 run in the second half run made a game of it after the Purple Aces entered the frame up 44-29.  Freshman Amari Davis led the Phoenix in scoring once again, registering 17 points. Manny Patterson got a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and PJ Pipes scored 13 points in the loss.

The Phoenix men will try to stop their four-game losing streak when they host Concordia-Chicago on Wednesday while the Phoenix women try to split their road trip contests at Marist at 11 a.m.
