On The Water Classic this weekend

Oshkosh has been hosting the On The Water Classic in boys wrestling since 1990. It continues to grow with almost 60 teams competing this year. That includes Southern Door, Kewaunee, and Sturgeon Bay all in action. With Friday’s results complete, Southern Door is faring the best among area squads with a team total of 46 points. Kewaunee has 34 and the Clippers 5. Coleman leads with 232.

One Southern Door wrestler remains after five rounds. Grant Englebert is alive in the 160-pound weight class after defeating Bonduel’s Moises Lagunes by major decision, 14-4, in his last match on Friday. Englebert looks to continue to advance in the consolation round Saturday.

Kewaunee’s Jack Severin was defeated in the quarterfinals at 126 pounds by Manitowoc Lutheran’s Jordan Craft. Mitchell Thompson is finding success in the consolation bracket at 145 pounds.
