The lone local game in girls' basketball action was kind to Sevastopol as the Pioneers beat NEWCHAA 53-37.
The game was part of a doubleheader and helped the Pioneers improve 3-6 on the year with a chance to win its first conference game Friday night against Gibraltar at 7:30 p.m.
Other games being played in girls' basketball include Southern Door traveling to Algoma and Kewaunee hosting Peshtigo for 7:30 p.m. tips. Luxemburg-Casco saw their game against Marinette until Monday. That game will still be at Luxemburg-Casco High School and broadcast on 96.7 WBDK.
