Phoenix edge Titans to close out homestand

The Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team ended their five-game homestand with a sweep of the conference's Motor City teams, including an 83-80 win over Detroit Mercy.

Key to the victory was controlling Antoine Davis, the leading scorer for the Titans and one of the top scorers in the nation. Averaging 24 points a game, Davis scored 17 points but hit only four of his 21 shots to do it. Davis even had a chance to tie the game with just seconds remaining, but he missed on his ninth three-point attempt to secure the win for the Phoenix. Freshman Amari Davis once again led the way  for the Phoenix with 19 points with Cody Schwartz, P.J. Pipes, and JayQuan McCloud all chipping in double figures as well.

The Phoenix men hit the road next weekend while the women play  this afternoon against UIC.
