The Gibraltar girls' basketball team are coming together after going through some challenges earlier in the season. The first major change came from the bench as Devin Thomas slid over from the assistant coach seat to take over the program from Josh Kropuenske after having the reins for 10 years. Thomas worked under Kropuenske as an assistant for seven years. The second challenge for the Vikings came during a multiple game stretch without its best player Abbi Sitte, who leads the team in points, rebounds, and assists. While they did not get many wins during that streak, Thomas says it forced the rest of the team to rely on their own talent and play together.

Winners of their last two games, the Vikings will play at home Thursday against Algoma.
