Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol each came away with a pair of victories over Oconto and Peshtigo in Packerland Conference wrestling action Thursday night on 104.1 WRLU.
Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol opened up their evening with a 42-0 win over Oconto with Kellen Hacht and Nick West earning pins in the only contested matches of the dual. On the other mat, Southern Door fought off Peshtigo to win 63-12. Brady Tooley pinned Kyle Rupert in just over a minute while Grant Englebert and Drew Defere were able to pick up bonus points in their victories. Jon LaForce and Kody Klimek picked up pins for the Bulldogs.
In the second set of duals, Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol beat Peshtigo 30-24, but lost two of their three contested matches. Katelyn Lewis and Klimek picked up pins for the visiting Bulldogs. Hacht picked up the lone victory with a second period pin. Southern Door topped Oconto 72-0 with Brodie Overbeck and Cody Nellis picking up pins for the Eagles.
Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol will wrestle next at their own tournament on February 1st while Southern Door heads to Sheboygan North on Saturday. In other local wrestling action, Luxemburg-Casco could not hold off Wrightstown in a 40-23 defeat.
