The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team's 68-59 victory at Wright State Thursday night was a streak buster and a history maker.
A close game throughout the evening, the Phoenix pulled away in the fourth quarter by outscoring the Raiders 20-13 in the frame. Frankie Wurtz led the Phoenix with 27 points as two other players scored in the double figures. The game not only broke a three-game losing streak to the defending conference champions but clinched the 500th win in Kevin Borseth's Division 1 coaching career.
The Phoenix women will head south to try and bolster their current second position in the conference with a game at Northern Kentucky on Saturday. The Phoenix men also play Northern Kentucky in a nationally-televised matchup from the Kress Center at 8 p.m.
