Wisconsin, Marquette close out victories

Nerves were high for fans of the state's two major college programs as Wisconsin and Marquette picked up big conference victories.


Marquette was down for much of its matchup against its rival DePaul, but a big run late and clutch free throw shooting secured the 76-72 victory. Markus Howard scored 31 points in the win.


Wisconsin put adversity aside for the afternoon at the Kohl Center as they upset #14 Michigan State 64-63. Nate Reuvers finished the game with 15 points.


The Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball team struggled in its matchup against Northern Kentucky, losing 63-43 behind a 28 percent field goal shooting performance. The Phoenix men host Wright State in a Sunday matinee.
