The Wisconsin Badgers could not use the positive momentum of an upset victory to start a winning streak, falling to Minnesota 70-52.
The Gophers had a 24-8 scoring advantage inside the paint in the first half and then virtually shut down the Badgers offense in the second half to secure the 18-point victory. The Badgers were led in scoring by Nate Reuvers with 14 points. Three other Badgers scored in double figures as they fell into a tie in the Big Ten Conference with Purdue and the Gophers as teams jockey for tournament positioning.
Fans of Wisconsin collegiate basketball will not have to wait long to cleanse their palate as the Green Bay Phoenix men's basketball team will play at IUPUI Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
