Phoenix basketball teams drop Saturday games

Both Green Bay Phoenix basketball teams dropped road contests Saturday afternoon, hurting their Horizon League Tournament positioning in the process.

In Milwaukee, the UWM Panthers hit  11 three-pointers and were a perfect 10-10 from the free throw line as the Phoenix women lost the contest 65-60. Frankie Wurtz scored 24 points in the game, but it was not enough to save the Phoenix from dropping to the fourth  position in the league.

In Chicago, the Phoenix men struggled to contain the high flying offense of the UIC Flames in its 71-58 loss. Instead it was the Flames that played the tough defense, limiting the Phoenix to their second lowest scoring total of the season and just a hair above 32 percent shooting from the field. Jayquan McCloud led the Phoenix with 15 points.
