Gibraltar girls notch impressive win against Peshtigo

The Peshtigo High School girls’ basketball team came into Tuesday’s contest at Gibraltar in second place. The Bulldogs leave in second place but it is much more tenuous now. Gibraltar has only been slowed down by Kewaunee in Packerland play the past month and the Vikings have now rallied to within a game of Peshtigo.

Gibraltar ran away from the Bulldogs, 56-39, behind Abbigael Sitte’s game-high 17 points. Maggie Moroney chipped in an additional 11. Gibraltar was able to empty the benches late and had nine players pick up at least one basket. Gibraltar’s run should continue through the weekend as their next game is a favorable matchup with Sevastopol.
