Southern Door and Sturgeon Bay go to overtime

Sturgeon Bay and Southern Door High Schools clashed Tuesday in girls’ basketball. The contest took overtime to decide. Southern Door walked away with the hard-fought 50-45 victory, coming from as many as 14 points down. Nicole Norton had 20 points for Southern Door. Sturgeon Bay got 14 points from Morgan Reinhardt and Greta Meleen added 11 but it was not enough to pull past the Eagles.

Southern Door improves to 8-5 in the Packerland Conference, keeping pace with Gibraltar for third place. Both teams are a game back of Peshtigo. The Bulldogs’ next game is against undefeated Kewaunee so a logjam for second place is possible by the weekend. The Eagles host Algoma Friday. Sturgeon Bay’s next game is also against Algoma but that doesn’t happen until Monday.
