The long wait is over for snowmobile riders in Kewaunee County after it was announced on Thursday that the trails would open on Friday.

According to Kewaunee County officials, trails in all four snowmobile sections will open on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 8AM, three of which include the use of the Ahnapee State Trail. The Moonriders of Kewaunee warn snowmobilers that the South trail off the pipeline is currently closed off with caution ribbon. The organization will work on that part of the trail and open it up as soon as the necessary work is completed.

All snowmobile sections in Door County have been open since Wednesday, but the condition of some parts of those trails have been listed as being poor.
