Badgers, Phoenix get big road victories

The Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Phoenix both got important road conference victories Saturday in men's college basketball action.

In Lincoln, the Badgers blew out Nebraska in the second half to win 81-64. Brad Davison gave the Badgers a slim 39-38 at the half with a three point shot, one of eight he hit on the afternoon to lead the Badgers with 30 points. D'Mitrik Trice hit five three point shots of his own to help lead the Badgers on several runs in the second half to outscore the Cornhuskers 42-26 in the final frame.

In Milwaukee, Amari Davis may have clinched his ninth Horizon League freshman of the week honor with another great performance in Green Bay's 94-90 win over the Panthers. Davis scored 28 points in the contest, but it was a Kam Hankerson's floater in the key that helped give the Phoenix the lead for good after trailing for several seconds in the final frame. The win gave the Phoenix hope it can potentially still capture a top-three finish, which would give them a bye and a home game in the Horizon League Tournament.
