Phoenix avenge loss against Oakland

An early-season loss to Oakland seemed like a lifetime ago after the Green Bay Phoenix women's basketball teams toppled the Golden Grizzlies in their rematch Sunday 76-51.

It looked like it was going to be another nailbiter after the Phoenix and the Golden Grizzlies went back and forth in the first quarter with the home team holding onto a slim one-point lead. The Phoenix outscored the Golden Grizzlies 20-1 in the second quarter, part of a 32-1 run that ultimately put the game out of reach. The Phoenix shot close to 50 percent from the floor while forcing the Golden Grizzlies to shoot less 33 percent and turn the ball over 24 times. Frankie Wurtz matched a career-high with 28 points. Three other Phoenix players scored in double digits.
