Kewaunee boys survive scare at Oconto

The Kewaunee High School boys’ basketball team maintained their slim one-game lead in the Packerland standings…barely. The Storm eked past Oconto on the road, 60-57, in a seesaw affair Tuesday. It was the only Packerland varsity contest that was played as scheduled due to the morning’s winter storm. Kewaunee Schools operated on a two-hour delay, and that may have affected the Storm. Earlier in the season, Kewaunee beat Oconto handily, 70-48, as a comparison.

Both teams had three players reach double figures. Ryan Carmichael netted 23 to lead Kewaunee while Oconto was paced by 16 from Josh Woller. Kewaunee is back on the court Friday against Peshtigo.
