UWGB men dominate in Motown

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay men’s basketball team throttled Detroit Mercy in Motown Friday night. The win evens the Phoenix’s overall record at 14-14. UWGB is tied for third in the Horizon League at 9-6 as the regular season begins to wind down in anticipation of the conference tournament.

The Phoenix had a great shooting night, 50 percent from the field and almost 50 percent from behind the arc. Senior guard Jayquan McCloud led the way with 32 points. That is almost twice his season average and ties a career-high. UWGB remains in the metro Detroit area when they face Oakland University Sunday afternoon at two.
