Gibraltar girls host playoff opener on 105.1 WSBW

The Gibraltar girls basketball team will begin their march towards Green Bay in front of a friendly Fish Creek crowd Tuesday when they host Suring in the first round of the WIAA Division 5 playoffs Tuesday night.

The Vikings come into the contest with a four-game winning streak and sweeping all six games against Door County schools this season. Abbi Sitte leads the team in scoring with just over 17 points per game, but it was in her absence early in the season that may set the tone for the Vikings' playoff run. Coach Devin Thomas says players needed to step up during that time and now he has been able to develop a deep bench in the process.

The Eagles come into the game having won just three of their 15 games in the New Year, led by Kylie Stelzer's 14 points game. Bryan Mazur and Tim Kowols will have the call beginning at 6:30 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7 p.m.
