Sturgeon Bay edges New Holstein to advance

The Sturgeon Bay High School boys’ basketball team won a tight contest Tuesday night against New Holstein, 69-61. Gunnar Tebon led the way with 24 points, scoring consistently in both halves. The Clippers led by a mere point at halftime, though, and Tebon needed help to secure the win. Jake Schneider netted 14 second half points to provide that support. Alex Baackes led New Holstein with 22 points. The difference in the game came at the free throw line. Sturgeon Bay got to the charity stripe 33 times, converting 25 of those attempts. New Holstein finished 12-15 in free throws.

The Clippers are the sixth seed and will face off against (3) Chilton in the second round Friday at 7 PM.
