The first sign of spring occurs Monday when area track teams report for their first practice.
March 9th is the first day track teams across the state are allowed to practice according to the WIAA. Last year, the Kewaunee boys and Sturgeon Bay girls captured Packerland Conference titles.
Top state performers potentially coming back into the fold in 2020 include Gibraltar's Abbi Sitte (100M dash), Kewaunee's Tanor Bortolini (shot put), and Sevastopol's Zoe Kuehn (triple jump) and Olivia Stenzel (800M run).
Luxemburg-Casco, Algoma, Sevastopol, Southern Door, and Sturgeon Bay will get their first action of the season on March 19th at UW-Oshkosh. Kewaunee will compete alongside Algoma the next day at Ripon College while Gibraltar will take on its first competition on March 31st in Neenah.
