It was a busy weekend of wrestling for the area's middle school and youth teams, including one that brought home some extra hardware.
The Luxemburg-Casco Middle School team won the WWF Kids Div 2 Team State Championship over the weekend. They beat Prairie Du Chein 32-27, Chetek/Weyerhaeuser/Prairie Farm 49-10, Evansville 65-6, and Sugar River 48-21.

Hi Everyone,
After a strong team performance Thursday night taking home 1st place in our Talon Tussle duals. We continued the success Saturday wrestling at a high level with 22 wrestlers competing at the Appleton North Middle School Invite. This was the first year competing in this individual tournament. With 20 teams competing most of which we do not see throughout our season, gave us the opportunity to see new competition. Leading the way in 1st place were: Trevor Englebert, Gavin Geisel, Lukas Kallin, Braden Baun, Lucas Conard, Wyatt Wilke and Jerek Valley.
Next up, we will start preparing for WWF Kids Folkstyle State Qualifiers held on Saturday March 21st. With 8 qualifier sites held across the state, the top 2 wrestlers in their respective age group and weight class qualify for the State Tournament held in Madison March 27-28.
It was a busy weekend on the mat for Southern Door youth wrestlers, beginning Saturday at Mishicot.
1st Place - Wyatt Jeanquart
2nd Place - Payton Jeanquart
3rd Place - Flynn Jeanquart
4th Place - Elijah DuBois
5th Place - Luke Bellin, Jackson Bellin, Delencey DuBois
Also on Saturday at Chilton, Peter Bloniarz brought home 1st Place.
On Sunday at Appleton North, brothers Clark & Jonah LeFevre earned 5th in their respective brackets, while Austin Ferron and Wyatt Jeanquart each finished in 7th place.

Zak Wrobel earned 3 pins on his way to a first place finish today. Dominic Tristani scored 2 pins and placed second. Kenna Wrobel is back in action after being sidelined with a wrist injury and placed second. Welcome back Kenna! Keep up the good work!
At Stevens Point
Eighth grader Julia Gregory went 4-2 and placed 5th at the WWF Sponsored High School All Girls Tournament held in Stevens Point. A very noteworthy performance and a glimpse of great things to come!
