Southern Door's Claflin, Kewaunee's Tlachac earn All-State nods

Two local athletes have earned All-State accolades as their high school basketball careers come to a close.

Chosen by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association, Southern Door senior Ryan Claflin was selected to the Division 4 All-State team. A UW-Green Bay recruit, Claflin was first team all-Packerland and the conference's player of the year as he averaged over 22 points a game, leading the Eagles to the regional final. Kewaunee's Ryan Carmichael was named an honorable mention selection for Division 3.

On the girls' side, Kewaunee's Mackenzie Tlachac earned All-State honors for Division 3. Averaging just over 19 points a game, Tlachac led the Storm to the regional final.
