The Green Bay Packers shutting down public operations for two weeks does not mean the franchise is taking any days off.
On Thursday, the team announced the hiring of Butch Barry as its senior analyst and the promotions of Luke Getsy to quarterbacks/passing game coordinator and Jason Vrable to wide receivers coach. Getsy and Vrable will have one less tight end to throw to as the team released tight end Jimmy Graham earlier in the day.
The legal tampering period for free agency begins on Monday when teams can talk to prospective players about signing new deals. Those deals could be finalized as soon as Wednesday.
While fans wait for that to materialize, they will not be able to visit Lambeau Field or the adjacent Titletown Park. Those options have been shut down as a precautionary measure to protect visitors from the coronavirus.
