NBA, MLB look at June return

Those hoping to Giannis leap and Yelich rake will have a few months to wait.

ESPN is reporting the owners of NBA teams are hoping to return to action by mid-June. Before a final determination is made, owners have to weigh out the costs of not playing now, restarting the season with empty arenas, and playing the playoffs in front of fans. The Milwaukee Bucks had the league's best record before the season was postponed last week.

MLB is hoping to have opening day festivities by Memorial Day weekend according to the USA Today. Hopes of starting earlier were dealt a blow over the weekend when a positive coronavirus test occurred in the locker room of the New York Yankees. That sent MLB teams at spring training complexes in Florida and Arizona home until further notice.
