NFL free agency officially begins Wednesday afternoon

The negotiating window for free agency started Monday, and the Packers announced they had agreed to terms with linebacker Christian Kirksey of the Cleveland Browns and right tackle Rick Wagner. Those contracts can officially be signed at 3 PM Wednesday. Rumors have floated hot and heavy for weeks that the Packers want another offensive weapon. Tight end Jimmy Graham is signing with the Bears (2 years, $16 million). Green Bay was interested in the Falcons’ Austin Hooper. Hooper announced Monday he is going to the Cleveland Browns. Green Bay also approached wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cowboys. He re-signed in Dallas.

If the Packers do not address those needs in free agency, expect them to be on the top of the priority list when the NFL Draft kicks off in Vegas next month. Green Bay has the 30th pick in the first round.
